Arctic Adventure

Torneträsk is Sweden's sixth largest lake and is situated just 30 kilometers northwest of Kiruna city surrounded by a majestic mountain scenery. Every spring, these ice fishing occations blossoms up with thousands of sports fishing enthusiasts interested from near and far to fish arctic char on the frozen lake. Even during the first week of May, ice may be sufficient to be able to get out on the lake ice to fish this very special fish species called arctic char. From Nikkaluokta, 60 kilometers outside Kiruna you can go out into the mountain world on skis, with snowmobiles, husky, or summer time hiking. Here there are several high mountains and stunningly beautiful valleys for the true wilderness tourist. Sweden's highest mountain range with mountain peaks over 2096 meters above sea level is 28 kilometers away from Nikkaluokta.
